  1. Thanks for answering my question! This is one aspect of foster care that seems less crazy than I originally thought. I am glad that you have been able to influence the spiritual development of so many kids. And, I love the point about living your faith the other 6 days and 23 hours each week.

  2. Thanks you so much for your podcast! I really enjoy listening and am so excited to hear more of your story and see what God is up to in your situation. What a beautiful family God is creating with you all! My husband and I are the only foster parents for a small adoption agency. Our experience is very different than yours but I am always looking for support and you are a great support! Hearing your perseverance even when it is so hard helps me!

Thanks Krysta for the John Piper video! He says it so well!

Thank you for this particular podcast. I am so sorry you are sounding down about taking a short break and for the struggle that has created that desire. I know God is using all these hard things for your good and for His glory! He is making you look more like Him as well as using you in your kid’s lives. I enjoyed your stories about speaking to your kids. You both are helping kids not only in this life but also for eternity. Thank you so much for showing Jesus with your actions and with your words as well!

These are two resources I thought might be helpful in regard to a couple things you said. First thinking of your comment that maybe we do invitations too often you might find solidarity with a ministry called “Way of the Master”. We listen to a radio show they do at wayofthemaster.com which is great. That ministry talks about the law and helping people understand their sin before explaining the saving work that Jesus did. The next is a book called Shepherding a Child’s Heart by Tedd Tripp. Some of the how to’s could not apply to your situation but the book helps give you ideas and words to tell your kids about obedience and their relationship to God. The author helps you disciple your kids really which seems to be your heart.

Please keep up your book reviews. Books for out of the ordinary kids are helpful. I also think there is a book called Attachment in Adoption which I think I read some of a long time ago. Have you read it?

Thank you again for the ministry in your home and for the education you are giving others. God is using you in my life.

  3. Hi, I’m in last stage process to be a single foster parent and really appreciate your podcast. I have been doing a catch up and listening to about 3 or 4 a day. I just wanted to say that I have really missed the “nothin’” to answer the question of “What’s wrong with that?” at the end of your podcast. I guess I got used to it and now I miss it and it bugged me so much to not hear it that I am here commenting, which I rarely ever do. So, is there a reason it is missing? I pray it’s not from weariness, because even in the storms, the answer is still nothing, right?
